LOS ANGELES — An investigation was continuing Wednesday into a robbery carried out by a group of suspects who may have intentionally rammed a driver on the 10 Freeway then swarmed the disabled vehicle and stolen items from inside — a heist captured on cell phone video.

The video was shared on the Citizen app, depicting the robbery on the eastbound 10 west of Arlington Avenue.

ABC7 reported the robbery occurred around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A California Highway Patrol official told KTLA5 that the driver of a dark-colored Dodge Caravan deliberately struck a black Alfa Romeo sedan, with a Ford Mustang also damaged during the collision.

The video then shows at least four men in dark-colored clothing and masks exiting the Dodge Caravan and swarming the Alfa Romeo, which is stopped on the side of the freeway with smoke emanating from under its hood. The driver is seen on his knees with his hands in the air as the group takes unknown items from the Alfa Romeo. The suspects then jump into a waiting white Chevrolet Malibu that is driven away from the scene.

Another person can be seen in the video filming the robbery with a cell phone, then assisting the Alfa Romeo driver after the suspects flee.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery was asked to call the CHP at 323-644-9550.
