Happy Friday, Ghosties!
Ready to rock out this Halloween? There are so many concerts happening in the next couple of weeks, all with terrifying themes.
So get your costumes ready and head to one of these venues to dance and sing your souls away all night long.
In past years, I’ve done lots of concert events to celebrate the season. I’ve been to see Danny Elfman‘s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” live-to-film concert production a handful of times and it’s fun to dress up, sing along to those memorable songs and there’s trick-or-treating, even if you’re an adult. Who doesn’t love free candy? That’s back this year at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Oct. 27-29.
Tiger Army’s Octoberflame is a lot of fun, too. I’ve been to that several times and this year Nick 13 & Co. are playing with Twin Temple and TSOL at the Hollywood Palladium on Oct. 27.
The big ticket this year would be to get in to see Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper at Yaamava’ Theater in Highland on Oct. 25. It’s a bit of a pricey ticket, selling at about $200 a pop, but you’re getting two horror-rock icons and one night of pure debauchery.
🦇 Here’s more frightfully fun news.
🧟 Try these 5 spooktacular cocktail recipes
I love a good themed cocktail and especially one that pairs well with a Halloween party. Several of the major alcohol brands release Halloween-themed recipes this time of year, so I decided to try out a few.
I narrowed down the list to five cocktails — from a sophisticated smoky bourbon old-fashioned to a fun candy corn-inspired glass of goodness — to serve up at your Halloween soiree or to sip on the couch while you watch scary movies.
My favorite of the bunch was surprising. I’m not a big fan of candy corn (I know, it’s a hot button issue this time of year), but the Candy Corn Cocktail with Sorel Liqueur and Screwball Whiskey is shockingly good.

🧛 Get a good scream n’ scrub down
Developed during the 2020 pandemic as a way to still celebrate Halloween but also safely socially distance, the Tunnel of Terror Haunted Car Wash remains popular even after in-person gatherings have resumed.
Once you drive inside, a variety of monsters will pop out to scare you, but you’re actually also getting a car wash as an added bonus. There’s all kinds of lights and props, too.
This year, it has expanded to two locations in Anaheim and Lakewood and is open select evenings from 6-10 p.m. Tickets start at $30 per vehicle and you can load it up with all of your friends. Reservations must be made in advance at thehauntedcarwash.com.
