If you’re looking for a car wash and a scare this Halloween season, you’re in luck because the Tunnel of Terror Haunted Car Wash is back.

Born during the 2020 pandemic and the peak of social distancing, the car wash setting provided horror fans with just a little something frightful at an already horrifying period in recent history. It was so popular that on its opening night, about 350 vehicles showed up for a good scream n’ scrub down.

In 2023, the experience returns and has expanded.

Aside from its location at Big Wave Car Wash (2219 Lincoln Ave.) in Anaheim, it’s also taking over Carwood Car Wash (2729 E. Carson St.) in Lakewood. The car washes will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 5-7; 12-14; 19-21; and Oct. 26-30. Tickets start at $30 per vehicle.

Guests can load up their rides with their Halloween-loving friends and cruise through the car wash, which is filled with creepy performers, props and special effects. The event producers also promise new scary surprises each night.

There is no age limit for this event, but parents beware, your little ones may not enjoy the monsters. Guests must remain in their vehicles at all times and obey the signage and other safety rules on-site.
