Santa Margarita, Crean Lutheran and Fairmont Prep each claimed their first CIF-SS team championships Monday in girls golf.

Santa Margarita, the reigning state champion, won Division 1 by an impressive 17 strokes by shooting an 11-under-par 359 at Los Serranos Golf Club in Chino Hills.

Freshman Emily Song carded a 6-under-68 to pace the Eagles, who outdistanced runner-up Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks at 376.

Santa Margarita also received under-par scores freshman Donina Zhou (72), Stanford committed senior Leigh Chien (73) and sophomores Angelina Tao (73) and Veronica Man (73).

The Eagles dominated one season after finishing as the runner-up to Arcadia.

Northwood (380) and Sunny Hills (395) finished third and sixth, respectively, to automatically advance to the CIF-SCGA Qualifier set for Thursday at Morongo Golf Club in Beaumont. The course will also host the section individual championships on Thursday.

Sunny Hills’ Yurang Li, an Illinois commit, stayed hot by carding a 69 in Division 1 final.

Orange Lutheran (404) and Troy (408) placed 11th and 12th, respectively, in Division 1 and also moved onto the SCGA qualifier. All 12 teams from Division 1 advanced based on adjusted handicap from the divisional finals.

Crean Lutheran edged St. Margaret’s for the Division 2 title at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard. Both teams shot 398 but the Saints won the title based their sixth player having a lower score.

Sophomore Jessica Liu of St. Margaret’s carded a 4-under-par 68.

Fairmont Prep claimed the Division 4 crown by 16 strokes with a score of 427 at El Prado Golf Course in Chino. St. Monica placed second at 443.
