Marina’s girls soccer team gave top-seeded Moorpark all it could handle Saturday night in the Division III finals of the CIF Southern California Regional playoffs.

The third-seeded Vikings scored late in regulation to force overtime before falling 11-10 in an epic shootout at Moorpark High.

Marina (13-7-6) scored on a free kick from 30 yards to tie the score at 1-1 and send the match into overtime.

The Vikings were seeking revenge after falling to Moorpark 2-1 in overtime in the CIF-SS Division 3 final on Feb. 25.

Hemet 2, Crean Lutheran 0: Senior goalie Brooklyn Acevedo made four saves but the host Saints (21-4-3) fell in the finals to the Bulldogs, who they defeated 1-0 in CIF-SS Division 5 for their first title.
