Olivia Hodges resigned Monday as coach of the top-ranked Dana Hills girls cross country team, said Dana Hills athletic director Tom Faris.

Dana Hills is No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division 3 girls cross country rankings. Hodges coached the team for two months, having been hired this summer.

Hodges declined to comment.

Faris will run the Dolphins girls cross country coach while the school seeks a replacement.

He said the school must make the position available to personnel within the Capistrano Unified School District before opening it up to non-district people.
