It wasn’t even close.

On Tuesday, Anaheim voters overwhelmingly rejected Unite Here Local 11’s effort to impose a costly $25 per hour wage mandate on local convention centers, concert halls, stadiums, and sports arenas.

As of this writing, 68% of Anaheim voters refused to back this economically nonsensical proposal which would have punished local business owners and driven business outside of city limits.

As this editorial board wrote last month, “With its ongoing scandals, the last thing Anaheim should do is risk its financial future.”

Voters saw through the far-left talking points of union boss (and Orange County Democratic Party leader) Ada Briceño, which is something all cities and businesses should take to heart.

Unite Here Local 11 has been busy throwing its weight around, trying to bully cities and businesses into bending to its will.

Don’t let it happen.

Unite Here Local 11 is loud and obnoxious, as all bullies are, but fundamentally toothless.

Kudos to the wise majority of Anaheim voters, who sent a clear message to Unite Here Local 11: go pound sand.
