A personal note of thanks

Many years ago, Ruth Vonderloh,  a dear friend and an Anaheim resident for many years, decided to retire from her job as a neighborhood column writer for the newspaper. She asked me to take over and convinced the editors with a glowing recommendation.

Ruth died on Oct. 30, here at her home in Anaheim. She was 97 years old. She still enjoyed sitting at her kitchen table, reading the paper every day.

She was a joy to know and a mentor. Thank you, Ruth, for everything.
