Long Beach State was eliminated from the NCAA tournament, following a 2-1 loss to Loyola Marymount at the Stanford Regional.

LBSU (31-23) managed to produce runners on base in each of the seven innings but Sara Olson was the only player able to score a run, following Makayla Medellin’s RBI single in the top of the fifth inning.

Cam Cecil was the only LBSU player to record multiple hits, finishing 2 for 4 in the loss. LBSU’s Sophia Fernandez struck out one while allowing four hits and two earned runs in five innings pitched.

Taylor Fitch’s two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning was the difference in the game for the Lions (28-21). Pitcher Jenna Perez was credited with the victory, after striking out four in four ⅔ innings pitched. She allowed five hits and an earned run.

Auburn 5, Cal State Fullerton 0: The Titans (34-21) were eliminated from the NCAA regionals Saturday after a loss to the Tigers (42-18) in the Clemson regional.

Myka Sutherlin allowed six hits and five earned runs in 5 1/3 innings pitched in the loss for the Titans. She had five strikeouts.

Rose Roach finished 1 for 4 but a single to right field brought in a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning to extend the Tigers lead.

Shelby Lowe was credited with the win, allowing just three hits while striking out seven in seven innings pitched for the Tigers.

Cal State Fullerton 5, UNC Greensboro 0: The Titans used a five-run fourth inning and combined one-hitter from Myka Sutherlin and Haley Rainey to oust UNC Greensboro in an elimination game early Saturday.

The victory not only kept Cal State Fullerton alive, but it set up its rematch with Auburn, which handed the Titans a 12-2 loss Friday.

Sutherlin started in the circle against UNC Greensboro (37-21) and surrendered just one hit and two walks while striking out nine in five innings. Rainey finished the win with two perfect innings.

Daisy Muñoz got Cal State Fullerton on the board in the fourth with a double to left-center, scoring Hannah Becerra. Deshea Hill added an RBI single and Evelyn Sablan drove in two more runs with a double to center. Sophia Guevara capped the rally by driving in Sablan with a single to center.
