The high-limit slot room at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in Cabazon is officially open.

The new room takes the place of Mystique, which was once a lounge space with a stage for live music. The space now houses 170 state-of-the-art slot machines with high-limit denominations between $1-$300 and is located by the valet entrance. It also includes a new bar with tabletop poker where guests can watch various televised sporting events across six television screens. It also includes a separate smoking room with a television.

But what truly makes it unique is the smart window tint that provides guests with the ambiance and views of the mountains and privacy. It’s a feature that has yet to be seen in many Southern California casinos that often don’t use much natural light in their indoor spaces.

Simon Farmer, executive director of marketing at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in Cabazon, said that the location for the high-limit room was put next to the valet for convenience and that some of their high-limit players vetted the slot machine choices.

“All the way down to a personal level, we know there are games in there that they want to play, so we make sure that those games are always operational and we’re ready to serve them at a moment’s notice,” Farmer said.

The bar’s specialty menu includes a Morongo Limousine Margarita ($12), an Italian Manhattan ($11) and an Estate Mojito ($11). For small bites, the bar offers menu items such as the Angus Beef Sliders ($18), Fish Tacos ($15) and bigger eats like the Filet Mignon ($37). However, if guests in the high-limit room prefer another eatery or drink from the property, they can push the service button on the machines and a staff member will take their order.

To celebrate the opening of the new room, the casino will host several different promotions, including $10,000 in cash and a 2023 Lucid Air Pure beginning at midnight on Oct. 6 until 7:59 p.m. on Oct. 8. In addition, every Saturday and Sunday from Oct. 14 to Oct. 29, two Morongo Rewards members will be drawn every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the opportunity to win up to $2,500 in cash.
